Angus Council – Green Waste Shredder Case Study
Angus Council needed to replace an aging shredder, used to shred their green waste. Their requirements for the new shredder included; a high fuel efficiency, a twin shaft configuration to tackle difficult materials (such as decomposed grass cuttings and root balls) and the ability to reserve the shafts to prevent any blockages / wrapped material, thus reducing machine downtime.
CRJ Services proposed that the HAAS TYRON would not only meet but exceed their requirements. The HAAS TYRON is a powerful twin-shaft shredder, capable of dealing with a range of materials whilst producing consistent products at impressive volumes.
Following their purchase, Aiden Devlin – Green Waste Controller at Angus Council, explained that the Haas Tyron 2000XL 2.0 was performing excellently, “Comparing tonnage throughput with the previous shredder, the Haas is shredding almost three times the amount of green waste in the same time frame, whilst producing a product of equal size and quality”.
As a result of the shredder’s increased efficiencies, Angus Council began hiring their TYRON to a neighbouring council to process their green waste. The neighbouring council were so impressed with the performance of the TYRON, they now hire the machine from Angus Council every 4-6 weeks, to process their own waste.
